For the new use of a ground floor area designed as a Berlin retail shop, all the shell walls are exposed, the studio rooms on the street side are connected by a generous opening and a compact and comfortable utility core with kitchen and shower room is organised as a separation between the work and private areas in the former bathroom.
The method used is to strip back the substance and implant the desired comfort in a minimally invasive way. The use of translucent and reflective materials creates a partially diffuse and light-flooded space.
