the historic garages and workshops of the gardener´s house are part of the listed "Siemens Villa" complex (formerly the "Correns Manor" ), which has been used as a university campus by BSP since 2012.
the rooms are connected to each other by different new wall openings, creating an exciting sequence of rooms with optimal organisation of public traffic and the technical processes of the café operation. At the same time, an optical permeability into the depth of the space is created, allowing a view from the entrance area through the café into the orchard.
without exception, the existing building and furnishing elements will be retained, remodelled, reinterpreted, subtly illuminated and supplemented. The installation of new interior façades closes off the café from the outside space when the garage doors are open.
